Charlotte Fabray, but you can call me Charlie.
I study Art History, Criticism and Conservation in Yale University.
I adore books, photography, art and music. I'm a bit nerdy, hence the Ivy League School, but it's okay, you'll get over it once you get to know me.

Rachel wasn’t exactly accustomed to be the receiving end of affectionate gestures. That’s the reason she went a little stiff when Charlie hug her. It shocked her at first but, after a few seconds, she relaxed into the embrace and let herself enjoy it. When they broke apart, Charlie threw her way, which made Rachel blush subtly. She let a faint “thank you” out of her mouth and proceed to sit down, giving the blonde a wide but shy smile.

“Actually, I didn’t have any plans for today.” The tiny brunette explained, trying to hide the sudden sadness that menaced to . “So my birthday’s been uneventful. Until now, of course.” She dared to make eye contact for the first time since she arrived. “I’m so glad you decided to meet up with me, Charlie.” She beamed and broke the eye contact just to let her eyes wander around the place. “This place is wonderful. You have such a nice taste, I must say.” She kept looking around until her vision caught something on Charlie’s lap: a very well wrapped box that resembled a present enough to make her nervous all over again. Rachel hid her curiosity and continued their little chatting. “So, how’s everything going for you, Miss Fabray?”

Well, it’s all going great. I really love Yale, it’s got such an incredible programme for what I’m studying, and to be honest, I enjoy every class. It feels amazing.

While the blonde was talking, she noticed that Rachel had seen the little box that was lying on her lap. She looked at it, then at the brunette, and smiled briefly. Charlie loved giving presents even more than receiving them. It made her feel extremely happy to see people’s expressions when they opened them.
The blonde wanted to say something before letting Rachel see her present, so she breathed in deeply, and cleared her throat.

Okay, to be perfectly honest… I believe all of this may appear to be a bit weird for you. I-I mean, I’ve pretty much came out of nowhere and… randomly asked you out, and now I’m about to… well, I do realize it’s unusual. But I just really like you Rachel, and I would love to be your friend. Or may- uhm… I-I mean…

Charlie gasped for air. Being straightforward and speaking her mind were a couple of her many qualities. She always felt like she should, like the mere thought of keeping things from someone was unbearable. However, she just couldn’t tell Rachel on their “first date” -which may possibly not even be a real first date- what her real intentions were. Sure, she did really want to be her friend, but she also wanted to be something more. She couldn’t tell her, though. There were limits for her sincerity.

Well, what I mean is… I’m going to give you a present and you’re going to accept it, okay?

Rachel’s brown eyes showed both confusion and understanding at the same time. She nodded, and smiled shyly.
Charlie took the little yellow box, and gave it to the brunette, whose eyes lit up slightly. She placed the gift on the table and took the wrapping paper off carefully, trying hard not to ruin it. When she finally finished, she noticed the little blue box inside had the name of ‘Tiffany & Co.’ written on it. Charlie could notice the expression on Rachel’s face even before she opened it up and discovered a little ring on the inside. It was almost entirely golden, and it had a silver star, covered in what seemed to be little diamonds.

I… I know how you said that you were allergic to silver, but the star is actually not it. It’s white gold, the lady told me. She also said it was supposed to “bring out the star in you” or something like that. It was a cheesy line, but I thought it made perfect sense.

Girl: The Beatles

Is there anybody going to listen to my story
All about the girl who came to stay?
She’s the kind of girl you want so much
It makes you sorry;
Still, you don’t regret a single day.
Ah girl. Girl.

Well I’m sure you could have made it that bit better on your own,
And I bet she told a million people that she’d stay in touch,
Well all the little promises they don’t mean much,
When there’s memories to be made,
And I hope you’re holding hands by new years eve,
They made it far too easy to believe,
That true romance can’t be acheived these days

Be my star, I’ll be your sky

ihavethestardomglow:

Rachel Berry was nervous. Yeah, you read it correctly: nervous. Which was ridiculous because, really, she was a performer and a great one for that matter: she had sung in front of thousands of people and she didn’t even got the shakes. But leave it to a date to give her those familiar tingles. It was pathetic in a way but, strangely enough, she absolutely loved it. The excitement, the warm sensation in her stomach, all the worries about what to wear, how to do her hair or her make-up and of course, the expectations… if she was being honest, she had to admit that it had been quite a while since the last time she felt that way. Yes, she dated Finn during the first half of their senior year but that had been an utter disaster and a complete mistake. She clung to him and forced herself to try and feel once again what she felt for him during their sophomore year. She forced herself to do that because she frantically needed to hide and overcome her feelings for another person. A very beautiful, green-eyed, blonde person that ironically, dated Finn Hudson before her. The one and only, Quinn Fabray.

But she never could do it, because her mind wouldn’t leave her alone about THAT person, not even for a second. That’s why she decided to break up with Finn, because it was stupid being together with him when he made her feel absolutely NOTHING, except for disappointment. But that was a totally different topic, she wasn’t letting her mind go there at the moment. She didn’t want her angry face to make an apparition.

So, Quinn Fabray… Was it weird that she was going out on a date with her twin sister, Charlie?

Rachel shook her head roughly, clearing her thoughts. Who was she trying to deceive? She didn’t have a date with Charlie. It was just a simple catching up with a old classmate, that was it. Yeah… besides, why would be Charlie Fabray interested in one Rachel Berry? No one ever was, not really anyway. The thought only made her laugh bitterly.

Her mind tricked her once again and her thoughts went to Quinn and their earlier “conversation” via sms. Rachel still couldn’t believe the events of the morning. First of all, the presents. After picking up the box and settling it on her desk, she opened it carefully. What she saw inside of it made her eyes water instantly: a microphone, her yearbook and what seemed a piece of paper. Then she remembered about wanting desperately THAT microphone when she was not older than eleven and smiled to herself while taking it in her hands and examining it. She put it aside and picked the piece of paper. It was actually a letter… a letter from a very young, twelve years old Quinn Fabray. She laugh at some parts, enamored by the sweetness that the letter itself transmitted. Rachel felt her heart growing in her chest while the words brought memories from her childhood, memories that included a friendship lost and missed.

Of all the presents, her yearbook was the most shocking part. She remembered passing her last month at Mckinley trying to find it to no avail. She ended giving up on her search with the idea that someone had probably took it to write and paint all kinds of stupid, nonsense things on and around her face. It wasn’t the first that it had happened, though. It made her sad because even when she knew not a lot of her classmates would write in it, at least she wanted to have the memory of her Glee Club friends. Nevertheless, she accepted the loss and moved on.

Rachel opened the book and rummaged through the pages, not really paying any attention to them until something caught her eye. All of the pages were in blank… all except for one. And… that did surprise her. Holding her breath, she began reading and then all hell broke loose. Tears fell aimlessly from her eyes as she gasped for air, trying hard to breathe, to not hyperventilate. She read and reread, her mind saturated from trying to understand each one of those words. Her heart went crazy, its rapid beat prove enough of how much she hoped for this moment, of how much she wanted this even when a part of her did not want to believe it. She spent most of her morning crying until she received the first sms from Quinn. After that she kept crying but for entirely different reasons. It all reminded her of the last two years at Mckinley… the hope of a new opportunity, the feeling that she was getting to know the blonde, that they were getting closer and Quinn was letting her walls down only for her, and then… the crash, the falling down from the clouds and last, but no less important, the heartbreak. A relationship with Quinn was always a synonym of emotional roller coaster, she had that very clear since day one, but it didn’t mean that everytime she went through, it didn’t hurt, because it did. It did, especially now that she was sure she had overcome that stage of her life, her unrequited love for Quinn Fabray.

She blinked quickly several times, clearing her now blurred vision. Rachel sucked in a deep breath and walked to stand in front of the body length mirror that was in her room. She dried with her thumb a couple of tears that had escaped her eyes and re-touched her make-up. Sighing, she stared at her reflection for who knows how long while letting the excitement of the night ahead fill her. When a small smile appeared, she decided it was time to go.

She took her purse and exited her dorm, walking fast through the halls and out the building to grab a cab. Lost in her thoughts and wishes that her “date” would love her outfit and her as a whole, she arrived sooner than she expected. Not seeing anyone outside, she entered the fancy restaurant and approached the waiter in the reception.

Good evening, I’m here to meet with Charlotte Fabray.

Waiter: sure, madam. Please, follow me. This way.

He guided her to the table and saw Charlie distracted, playing with the napkin. She waited for the man to go back to the reception to greet her companion properly.

Hello, Charlotte. I’m glad to see you. You look… amazing. —she said as the other girl was standing up to greet her back. Rachel couldn’t help but checked her out subtly, blushing slightly at the sight. The blonde was incredibly beautiful.

*Note: Rachel’s outfit.

The blonde was patiently waiting when she saw a small figure walking towards her. As she got closer, she could see her better, and she realized she was not ready for what was coming. At all. The tanned, petite girl looked gorgeous from head to toe. She had her hair up, heels on, and a little white dress that left Charlie literally speechless.
The taller girl stood up and hugged the brunette very tightly, and it sure was wonderful. She had to use all of her self-control to stop her hands from going lower, or not to smell her hair in a way she could notice. She felt like a complete creep, but it really didn’t bother her that much.

Happy birthday Rach, you look stunning!

The petite girl smiled widely to her, she seemed like she was getting used to all of her compliments. Charlie had left the gift on her chair, so she picked it up, and left it on her lap again, impatient to give it to her and see her reaction.

How’s your birthday so far? Honestly, I found it a little weird that you agreed to have a date with me today, you probably have better things to do.

Be my star, I’ll be your sky

Charlie was walking around the dorm nervously, checking her watch constantly. It was only 6:09 pm and she was already dressed, her hair and make up were done and the gift was all wrapped up. Quinn was not there, or else she would have to pretend she didn’t have butterflies flying around in her stomach. Except these butterflies felt more like birds. Big birds. And they were creating a real big mess in there.
She checked her clock one more time. 6:12 pm. God, did time go by slowly or what?
She needed to leave the room, so she grabbed both of her keys and the little present covered with dark yellow wrapping paper and a charming white bow. She started going around the University’s campus. A couple of people said ‘hi’ to her but she was too nervous to talk, so she just waved. Nicely done, Char, congrats on the charisma.
Did Charlie Fabray like, like Rachel Berry? She did, she was not sure why, how, or when it started, but there was something about her kind and passionate soul she found irresistible. Both twins had always had a relationship with Rachel, and while Quinn’s got worse as time went by, Charlie’s got slightly better. They were never really friends, but she was nice and polite to her, she treated Rachel well, and that was all she really wanted.

She thinks that she started seeing her differently at the end of their Senior Year, and she talked to her less and less until she didn’t at all. She wasn’t scared because she was attracted to a girl, not at all. It was just… it was Rachel Berry, why would she want her back? Of course, that was until she just decided she didn’t really care, and it was worth giving it a shot. So there she was, nervous and anxious waiting to meet Rachel the day of her birthday, in a fancy restaurant and with a present she hoped the brunette would love.

She got in her car and started driving around the place. Driving always calmed her down. To make sure it really did, she played on the stereo her favorite album. Two Door Cinema Club was the perfect band to help her take her mind off things.

A few songs later, Charlie decided it was about time to get the hell off of Connecticut and make her way to New York City.

An hour and thirteen minutes passed and the blonde had finally arrived to the restaurant. However, she was still twenty minutes early.
Charlie went inside the restaurant and smiled at the sight. She had gone to very few restaurants in New York, and none of them were really elegant. She had made her research through the internet and was afraid it may not be what she was looking for, but she was wrong. The place had this antique look, that reminded her of women in long dresses, with fancy hairstyles and a cigarette with filter in their hand. Also, men in tuxedos, and hankerchiefs. It was
picturesque and downright perfect.
She gave her last name to the waiter, who took her to an isolated table. A perfect one, as well. She sat down with the gift on her lap, waiting for the birthday girl to appear.

SANTA BABY.

queen-tana:

ch-fabray:

Well, yes, I do indeed.

But… I don’t know, I don’t think it’s a date. Or is it? It is her birthday, though.
*Charlie got lost in her thoughts and got no response from either of the girls. Quinn was looking at her the same way she did in the past two days, and Santana was obviously confused. The brunette opened her mouth to ask her sister about it, but Charlie looked at her to clarify the whole situation*

I’m going out with Rachel. We’re having dinner at a fancy restaurant and I bought her something. It’s weird, I don’t really know what I’m doing.

*She sighed and shook her head. She didn’t even know why she was talking about that at all*

I’m sorry, you guys don’t care, do you? But Quinn’s right. I should probably go…

She tried hard not to laugh at Quinn’s response. Inspiring… really? She did “inspire” her with very lesbian feelings, that was for sure. She caught her best friend examining her new outfit and staring at her very tanned, very silky legs. Santana uncrossed and recrossed them, making the blonde look away and change the subject. She smiled to herself and said nothing. Instead she listened to the twins with an expression that turned from confusion, to surprise, to horror, to confusion again.

Rachel? Rachel as in Berry? I must be going fucking deaf… you’re going out with Rachel Berry, the diva, the star, the hobbit-

Santana received an eye-roll and a faint nod from Charlie. She opened and closed her mouth a couple of times without knowing exactly what to say.

Holyshit, you have a date with THE Rachel Berry. Since when are you two buddies?

She looked at Charlie first and then fixed her eyes on Quinn and what she saw… it surprised her but it didn’t at the same time. Santana knew that expression, it wasn’t the first time she saw it. Her best friend was having one of her conflicted feeling sessions with herself and was definitely far from comfortable with the actual topic. Her brown pools met hazel ones fleetingly, making her snap out of her thoughts.

Nevermind, I don’t wanna know right now. I still have to work and I don’t wanna get sick before I get paid. So… reserve the details for after your little party with Berry, so I don’t have to hear about her twice in the same month.

Santana said that with a boring tone but she leaned on Charlie for like, two seconds, just so her friend would know she was joking. Kind of.

So… are you going back home then, Cherry Bomb?

Cherry Bomb? That’s a new one. I like it.

Charlie bit her lip and looked at Quinn, who looked like she wasn’t paying any attention to their little chat. Her eyes looked lost. The blonde had the impulse to snap her fingers in front of her face to “wake her up”, but she didn’t. Her sister was acting extremely weird because of God knows what, and she didn’t know how she would react this time. That freaked her out.

I guess I should leave, it’s a long ride. But as you can see, I came with here Quinn. I won’t make her come with me if she doesn’t want to, she’s not the one that’s going on a date with Rachel Berry. Can you imagine that, though?
